The custody dataset, 2021–2026
Every barcoded item that crosses the sorting table gets scanned by hand before it’s routed. Five years of those scans are a public, auditable record of what actually moves through this operation — the homepage number links straight here.
April 2021 – July 2026: 352,551 books, 53,077 DVDs, 39,924 music discs and tapes, 2,182 video games.
Unique editions identified across the scan record — the same corpus that feeds the first-edition reference.
2,371 logged business drives across the Albuquerque metro since 2022.
Weight, stated honestly. At category-average weights, the scanned items alone come to roughly 340,000–380,000 pounds. But barcode scanners never see a large share of the stream — pre-ISBN and no-barcode books, magazines, encyclopedias, vinyl, and camera equipment. Counting that material at conservative rates, the running total clears 450,000 pounds, and on ordinary assumptions it passes the half-million mark. The scan count above is exact; the poundage is an estimate with the method shown — that’s the difference between what I headline and what I hedge. Elsewhere on this site that estimate appears as one figure: an estimated 500,000 pounds of books and media since 2021. Counts refresh as data syncs land.

Pickup scheduling: booked through the second week of November
Free home pickups are booked through the second week of November (as of October 12, 2026) and scheduled by route as the calendar opens; the 24/7 drop box at 5445 Edith Blvd NE is immediate, and someone is at the warehouse 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day to help unload.
