Terms of use, current version dated September 12, 2026 · New Mexico Literacy Project, Albuquerque
What this website is
This website belongs to New Mexico Literacy Project, a for-profit book and media donation and resale business owned and operated by Josh Eldred in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Using the site, the 24/7 drop box, the free pickup service, or the reference tools means you accept the terms on this page.
Donations are gifts. NMLP is not a nonprofit, so donations are not tax-deductible, and no receipt for tax purposes is issued. Once items are dropped in the box or handed over at a pickup they become NMLP property and are sorted, resold, rehomed, or recycled at NMLP's discretion.
Reference tools and guides
The first-edition checker, the LCCN, CD and vinyl lookups, and the collecting guides are provided free as reference material. They identify editions and formats from public catalog data; they do not appraise books, do not state prices, and are not a substitute for a professional appraisal when one is needed for insurance, probate, or a sale.
Reference data is assembled from public sources such as the Library of Congress, Open Library, and Discogs open data, and can contain errors or gaps. A lookup that returns nothing means the identifier is absent from the snapshot, not that the item does not exist. Corrections are welcome and are logged publicly on the corrections page.
Pickups, scheduling and the drop box
Free pickup is offered across the Albuquerque metro only, scheduled by route, and availability changes with the season; the site states the current wait honestly and the drop box at 5445 Edith Blvd NE, Unit A is always the fastest option. Items left outside the box are left at the donor's own risk, and hazardous, wet, or infested material should not be dropped.
NMLP never buys books from donors and never pays for donations. Anyone who asks you for payment or a fee in NMLP's name is not NMLP.
Liability and changes
The site is provided as is. NMLP is not liable for losses arising from use of the reference tools, from reliance on third-party listings in the comparison guides, or from items donated. Links to other organizations describe their published policies at the time of writing and can change without notice. These terms may be revised; the effective date at the top of the page shows the current version. Governing law is the State of New Mexico.
