That Disturbances Cease is the volume of the Vargas journals for 1697 to 1700, after Diego de Vargas's first term as governor, when his successor Pedro Rodríguez Cubero held him in Santa Fe and investigated him. Its parts run from the succession to the governorship and the case against Vargas and Juan Páez Hurtado to the business of government, the Vargas encomienda, and Vargas's departure from Santa Fe in 1700.
