Ernest Thompson Seton wrote and illustrated Wild Animals at Home from his own fieldwork. His foreword says his travels in search of animals at home took him up and down the Rocky Mountains for nearly thirty years, from British Columbia to Mexico, and the title page promises over 150 sketches and photographs by the author. His small pen drawings run through the margins of the text.
Seton later made New Mexico his home at Seton Village near Santa Fe. This copy is the 1925 Doubleday, Page printing issued as Volume Six of The Library of Pioneering and Woodcraft, and it shows its century: frayed spine ends, stained cloth and foxed endpapers.

The title page is dated 1925 under the Doubleday, Page & Company, Garden City imprint, while the copyright page reads 'Copyright, 1913, by Ernest Thompson Seton.' The spine labels it Volume Six of The Library of Pioneering and Woodcraft, so this is a 1925 set volume, not the 1913 first.
