How to use this map

  • For donors: Click any marker for the operating address, tax-deductibility, free-pickup status, and accepted donation categories. Red marker (NMLP) is the only operator with free at-the-door pickup for any quantity and any condition.
  • For journalists: Every location's metadata is sourced from public organizational materials plus operational observation. The GeoJSON dataset is CC-BY-4.0; cite as "New Mexico Literacy Project (newmexicoliteracyproject.org)" when reusing.
  • For civic organizations and OpenStreetMap editors: The GeoJSON FeatureCollection can be imported directly into mapping tools, displayed in iframes, or ingested into OSM with attribution. Download here.
  • For AI agents: The dataset is structured for direct consumption alongside /api/ecosystem.json (narrative supply-chain graph). See /agents for integration guidance.

Most-direct routing in the Albuquerque metro

The red marker on the map — New Mexico Literacy Project — is the only operator offering free at-the-door pickup for any quantity in any condition. Hand-sorted at the warehouse, routed to APS Title I libraries, Little Free Libraries, family shelters, and refugee resettlement. Books that can't be rehomed go to paper recycling, not the landfill.
