Free Book Pickup in Albuquerque — How It Works

Step-by-step guide to schedule your free pickup service

Published: March 21, 2026 Reading time: 5 minutes By Josh Eldred

When you're ready to declutter, downsize, or clear out a room, getting rid of books shouldn't be complicated. That's why I offer a free book pickup service in Albuquerque that comes straight to your door — Downtown, the South Valley, or anywhere across the metro. No fees. No minimum. No hassle. Here's exactly how it works.

Step 1: Contact Me

The first step is easy—reach out to us. You have multiple ways to get in touch:

When you reach out, just let us know what you have—books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, or a mix of everything. Tell me roughly how much you're donating so I can plan accordingly.

Step 2: I Schedule a Time

Flexibility is built into my service. I work around your schedule, not the other way around. Once you contact me, I'll confirm a pickup time that works for you. In most cases, I can schedule your pickup within a few days.

Whether you need a pickup next week or in the coming month, just let us know your availability, and I'll make it happen.

Step 3: Box Up Your Books (Or Don't)

Want to make things easier for us? Box up your books, DVDs, and other items before I arrive. But honestly, it's not required. If you'd rather leave them on shelves or scattered around, I can grab them directly.

Condition doesn't matter. I accept books in any condition—worn, water-damaged, marked up, or like-new. Old textbooks, novels, children's books, reference materials—I take them all.

Pro Tip:

If you have a large collection, boxing things up ahead of time helps us move more efficiently and get you cleared out faster.

Step 4: I Arrive and Load Everything

On pickup day, I arrive at your location ready to work. I load all your books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and related items into the vehicle. You don't have to lift a finger.

I handle everything carefully and haul it all away, leaving you with cleared shelves and a room that finally has some breathing room.

Step 5: I Sort and Redistribute

After I pick up your items, the work continues behind the scenes. Here's what happens next:

I pass books along to readers, students, and families across Albuquerque, ensuring your donations continue their useful life rather than ending up in a landfill.

Service Details You Should Know

Free Service, No Minimum

My pickup service is completely free. There's no minimum number of items required. However, pickup is most practical for larger loads—typically a few boxes or more. If you're clearing out a small shelf or nightstand, our 24/7 drop box might be more convenient for you.

Service Area: Albuquerque and Beyond

I operate in Albuquerque and surrounding communities including Rio Rancho, Corrales, and Bernalillo. If you're outside the immediate Albuquerque metro area, contact me to confirm pickup availability for your location.

I Pick Up More Than Just Books

Books are my primary focus, but I also accept DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and other media. Mixed collections are welcome.

No Tax Deduction

This is a for-profit service, not a charitable donation. I don't provide tax receipts or deductions. I simply help you clear out your space while keeping books in circulation.
