Where to Donate Religious Books and Bibles in Albuquerque
Many people have religious books, Bibles, devotionals, and spiritual study materials they want to pass along respectfully. Clearing out a personal library, managing a church donation, or making space at home — finding the right place to donate religious books matters in any of those situations. You want them to go somewhere that handles them with respect and care.
Churches often have surplus hymnals, Bibles, and religious texts from library refreshes or when congregations close. Families sometimes inherit collections of religious books, devotionals, and study materials that they want to keep in circulation rather than discard. The challenge is finding an organization that accepts all types of religious materials and any condition — highlighted, annotated, worn covers, old editions.

Donate Religious Books in Albuquerque
The New Mexico Literacy Project accepts all religious books and materials at my free 24/7 drop box located at 5445 Edith Blvd NE, Unit A, Albuquerque, NM 87107. I take Bibles, Torah, Quran, devotionals, hymnals, religious commentaries, prayer books, spiritual texts, and materials from any faith tradition.
There are no restrictions on condition. Highlighted pages, personal notes in the margins, worn covers, water damage, old editions — I accept them all. The sentimental value and personal meaning these books carry is respected here. Many religious books contain underlines, margin notes, and meaningful passages marked by previous readers. I understand that these annotations reflect a person's spiritual journey, and I handle them accordingly.
Just drive up to the drop box, place your books inside, and you're done. No sorting required, no hours to work around, completely free.

What Happens to Your Donated Religious Books
Every item that comes through my drop box is hand-sorted. Religious books in sellable condition are resold to help fund my continued operation. Books that cannot be resold are recycled — I remove the binding and process the paper responsibly. I connect donated books with new owners through my shop and free programs rather than sending them to a landfill.
I've processed over 500,000 pounds of books. That represents thousands of people who chose to donate their books responsibly, including many religious collections from families, individuals, and congregations throughout Albuquerque.
