Travel guides are a quick-aging category: Lonely Planet, Fodor's, Frommer's, Rough Guides, Rick Steves, DK Eyewitness, Moon, Bradt. They date fast because hotels close, restaurants change and prices shift. NMLP accepts travel guides at any age:
- Recent editions (last 3 years) go back out to travelers: resold online or passed on free to Little Free Libraries.
- Older editions (3-15 years) still useful for the geography, history, and culture content even when the practical info is stale. Many find homes with travelers planning research trips.
- Vintage travel guides (pre-1990) are welcome too; their old maps and photos are good history.
- NM and Southwest regional guides are always welcome. The donation archive has documented several.
- Foreign-language travel guides — same routing as the foreign-language books category.
