Current status (as of September 11, 2026): the home-pickup calendar is booked through October. If your books fit in a car, the 24/7 drop box at 5445 Edith Blvd NE takes them today.
Pickups are scheduled by route, not by a fixed window:
- Core and near metro (Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo, Placitas): the next run through your area once the calendar opens.
- Extension tier (East Mountains, Los Lunas, Belen): scheduled around the metro work.
- Anywhere else in New Mexico: no pickup. The free 24/7 drop-off is open around the clock, no appointment.
Hard deadlines — a closing date, a hospice transition, family flying in — are worth a call to 505-250-3804; say so up front and you get a straight answer about whether it can be worked in. Once a slot is scheduled, weekends, evenings and early mornings are normal pickup hours. In normal weeks, most metro pickups happen within a few days of the call.
For donors who don't need pickup at all: the 24/7 outdoor donation box at 5445 Edith Blvd NE is always available.
