Religious books — Bibles, hymnals, devotionals, Catechisms, prayer books, study Bibles, Christian fiction, theological references, Quran, Torah, Talmud, Buddhist sutras, Hindu scriptures, LDS materials, devotional poetry — are accepted by NMLP in any quantity, condition, or language.
Routing depends on category:
- Spanish-language Catholic devotionals and Bibles — high demand at NM Catholic congregations, particularly in the South Valley and East Mountains. NMLP makes these available where the alignment exists.
- Family Bibles with handwritten records — flagged during sort. If the family hasn't claimed them, NMLP can route to genealogical archives (UNM Center for Southwest Research accepts NM-family-history materials).
- Reading-condition Bibles and devotionals — route to local congregations, hospital chaplaincies, prison ministries, and Little Free Libraries.
- Theological reference (commentaries, concordances, Strong's, BDAG, biblical languages) — category fit for seminary and pastoral education programs in the region; otherwise online resale or recycling.
- Penitente brotherhood and Spanish-Colonial religious materials — collector-grade for the donation archive and for NM regional religious history collections.
- LDS materials — category fit for NM-area LDS communities; otherwise online resale.
- Quran, Torah, Talmud, and other-tradition materials — category fit for local Muslim, Jewish, and other religious communities; NMLP makes available where alignment exists.
NMLP handles religious-book donations with respect for the materials' significance. Free pickup or 24/7 drop. 702-496-4214.
