Neverwhere

The UK BBC Books edition (1996) is the true first by publication. The US Avon edition (1997) is a later, textually different version: Gaiman revised and expanded the text for American readers, adding and restoring material, and Avon copies are sometimes described as the author's preferred text — so the BBC and Avon texts differ, and the BBC hardcover remains the true first regardless.
